Today we look at using 'rānei' to say 'or' when giving options.

How would you say 'Is Mum going to the store or to school?' in Māori?
  • Kei te hiahia koe i te inu, i te kai rānei?
  • Kei te haere a Māmā ki te toa, ki te kura rānei?
  • He whero, he pango rānei te tae?
 

How would you say 'Kua tīmata rātou ki te kai, kāore rānei?' in English?
  • Are we going to the beach or to the pool?
  • Have you got a hat or a parasol?
  • Have they started to eat or not?
 

How would you say 'Kei te pīrangi koe i te aihikirīmi, i te rare rānei?' in English?
